Moseley defence gets to grips with Mike Roberts The Warriors started their season in style as they trounced Moseley 55-5 at a sunny Whitecraigs this afternoon. A hat-trick from new signing Thom Evans within the first quarter of an hour set the tone for Glasgow's performance and the team were obviously buoyant having been given confirmation of their new home venue at Hughenden before the game. Head coach Sean Lineen said: "There were some really good individual tries and I thought the new signings all performed very well. Thom's three tries were really something special. I was also pleased with our apprentices, all of whom came onto the pitch at some point and performed well and I think they all took something useful out of it." In the first of three 25 minute periods, the Warriors dominated Moseley, notching up 26 points along the way through those Evans tries, a Graeme Morrison try and three Dan Parks conversions. The second 25 minute period saw the Warriors defence tested as Moseley stepped up a gear but their hard-hitting efforts could only muster an unconverted try on the scoreboard from Neil Mason while Glasgow responded with another couple of tries from back-row duo John Barclay and John Beattie an another conversion from Parks. Having had their defence tested in the second period, the Warriors closed down the game with a further three tries from Hefin O'Hare, Ben Addison and Andy Henderson respectively and a conversion from Michael Adamson bringing the final score to 55-5. Remember when he dominated the mid-field against Leinster at the end of last season in Firhill? He has been comming on in leaps and bounds. Lets hope he can keep it up and do the same to Newcastle on Friday.
