November 25, 2016Glasgow Warriors 5 - 22 OspreysGUINNESS PRO14 match played at Scotstoun on Friday November 25th 2016 | No comments
Junior Bulumakau went over for Glasgow's only points Warriors slipped to a disappointing defeat to Ospreys at Scotstoun on Friday evening. Ospreys' first-ever win at Scotstoun Stadium and their first in nine visits to Scotland came in bitterly cold conditions in Glasgow. Although Ospreys had been on top throughout the first period - they led 5-0 at the break thanks to a try Tom Habberfield - the final result hinged on the red card shown by referee George Clancy to Warriors lock Brian Alainu'uese in the 46th minute. Ospreys made the extra man count with tries for replacement wing Tom O'Flaherty, number eight Dan Baker and centre Ashley Beck. Glasgow only try came from replacement Junior Bulumakau with a minute left on the clock. After the match Glasgow Warriors coach Gregor Townsend said: "I'm obviously disappointed we didn't win at home and disappointed for the crowd that turned up in big numbers. "I was really proud of the effort. I'm proud of the way we defended in that first half, when Ospreys had a lot of possession, and proud of the way we finished the game. "That last 15-20 minutes, when we were a man down and had a lot of young players, they did really well and it was great to see them score a try. "We obviously have a bit of improving to do and you're not going to beat a team like Ospreys when they're playing so well when you're down to 14 men for such a long time."
