August 25, 2018Northampton 41 - 15 Glasgow WarriorsFriendly match played at Franklin's Gardens on Friday August 24th 2018 | No comments
![]() Dave Rennie Glasgow Warriors lost out 41-15 to Northampton in tonight's pre-season friendly at Franklin's Gardens. Glasgow's tries came from Tommy Seymour, Nikola Matawalu and DTH van der Merwe but they were the only bright spots in a match where Northampton dominated physically throughout. Warriors fortunes weren't improved by sin-binnings for George Horne (backchat) and Ruaridh Jackson (intentional knock-on). There was also a worrying injury for Sam Johnson after the centre received a blow to the head when making a tackle. Warriors head coach Dave Rennie said he and his side have to take a "look" at themselves after conceding seven tries against Saints. The match was the last warm-up for Glasgow before they open their PRO14 campaign away to Connacht next Saturday. "We wanted tough opposition and we got taught a few lessons in key areas," Rennie told WarriorsTV. "Ultimately we needed to be a little more patient and we ended up chasing the game. Defensively we just fell off too many tackles and I thought Northampton were good. "In the end we've got to look at ourselves and be better."
