Richie Dixon dedicated Glasgow's 23-10 victory to retiring club captain Andy Nicol. "Andy has been a very special figure in Scottish rugby over the last decade and will be sorely missed." said Dixon.

"His career was full of honesty and integrity - a true pro. Very few Scottish captains have lifted the Calcutta Cup in recent times and he will always be remembered for that achievement." added Dixon.

Andy has confirmed that he will still be involved with Glasgow on the hospitality side as well as working with his rugby travel company and continuing his media work.

On last night's match, Dixon said: "Every player deserved credit for putting on such a good show in dreadful conditions."
