Three linked to Glasgow

Glasgow are believed to be close to signing three antipodean players as their squad restructuring begins to take shape.

The recruitment of Eastern Suburbs stand-off, Dan Parks, who had a spell with English Premiership side Leeds last season, has been rumoured for some time. However, Sam Pinder, a Kiwi scrum half, who played for GHA when brought over on trial by Glasgow earlier this term, and Paul Dearlove, a No.8 who has been part of the ACT Brumbies back-up squad, are also thought to be close to signing.

All three players are qualified to play for Scotland.

Glasgow have released Gav Scott, Cam Blades, Dave Hilton, Tommy Hayes, Chris Black, Barry Irving, Iain McInroy, and Michael Bartlett. With Joe Naufahu their only remaining non-Scottish qualified player, it leaves Glasgow room for manoeuvre.

Glasgow are still looking for experienced prop and lock to bolster their front five, as well as a quick back, but Dearlove's arrival will almost certainly rule out any chance of Scotland internationalist Ross Beattie joining them.
