Scott came on and immediately scored a try, generally impressed, won himself a deal to stay, and is now a key member of the Glasgow squad.
Alex came on and before having a chance to impress sustained a very serious knee injury. The former Harlequins and Pau forward spent 10 months sidelined with a ruptured cruciate ligament.
He's now fit again and ready for a comeback after Bristol head coach Richard Hill, who worked with the former England Under-18 player at Quins, has given Alex another chance to impress.
He said: "Alex was a very good young player and he should not be lost from the game. He damaged his knee ligaments and is now looking for an opportunity to prove himself. We are giving him a helping hand.
"We are keeping him here for our pre-season training all summer and we will see how he goes on. I know him well from my time at Quins. He was a big powerful lad, very dynamic and played regularly for the Quins second team when he was 19."
Alex, capped also at England Students level, enjoyed five years at The Stoop before heading across the Channel to sign for French side Pau.
