Former Scotland U19 captain, Cameron Ferguson, will retain the captain's armband for the opening fixture and head coach Oliver is impressed with the calibre of his squad.
"We have a great squad of players that have a lot to prove and I'm equally encouraged by the level of communication and leadership in the team.
"Our first game against Glasgow will be very tough and it will give the guys a very physical and mental challenge.
"Cameron has been selected as captain for the first game because of his ability to stay composed under pressure and make good decisions consistently."
