Alan joined Dundee HSFP from Morgan FP and quickly became a regular in the club's 1st XV. Alan has won age group caps at Under 18, 19 and 21 level and he's also played for the Scottish Students/Development Squad.

Glasgow signed Dundee HSFP No.8 Alan Brown on a part-time contract for start of the 2003-2004 season.
