December 15, 2024Toulon 30 - 29 Glasgow WarriorsChampions Cup match played at Stade Mayol on Sunday December 15th 2024 | No comments
Jare Oguntibeju went over for Glasgow's third try Glasgow Warrior will leave Stade Mayol with two points but will believe it should have been more after this afternoon's Champions Cup match against Toulon. The visitor's points came from a penalty try, Josh McKay, Jare Obuntibeju - his first try in Glasgow colours - and Johnny Matthews with Duncan Weir and George Horne adding the rest from the tee. Mckay's try could have given Warriors the lead at the interval but Duncan Weir was wide with a conversion he would normally slot over 99 times out of a hundred. Warriors will also be frustrated they weren't able to take advantage of a first half period when Toulon were down to 13 players. In fact Toulon "won" that period 6-5 after two penalties from Marius Domon. In contrast, Toulon went over for two tries - including one from former Warriors' lock Brian Alainu'uese - when Glasgow prop Sam Talakai was sin-binned. The result leaves Glasgow in second place on seven points in the Investec Champions Cup Pool 4, just one point behind top-of-the-table Toulon.
