Good news for Macfadyen

There was some good news for the Warriors today when Donnie Macfadyen, the Glasgow and Scotland open-side wing forward, was reassured that no bone has been broken in the ankle that was damaged against Borders on Friday.

An X-ray of Macfadyen’s left foot has revealed no fracture. The injury has been defined as an ankle ligament strain. "Donnie’s injury will, of course, be regularly monitored," David Jordan, Glasgow’s chief executive, said today on the official Glasgow Warriors website. "But it is too early yet to define the recovery timescale."

The news comes the day after Jon Petrie was told he would be fit for the Six Nations after a hand injury looked like ruling him out. Petrie said: "It was such a trivial injury it would have been a shame if it had kept me out."
