Euan said: "My ambition had always been to force my way into the Scotland set-up for the Six Nations and it was a crushing psychological blow when I was suspended. I have worked really hard during the lay-off time - and I feel stronger and fitter than ever."
Euan also revealed he had been approached by the Barbarians to play against Leicester in March. But he'd be delighted to have to pull out of the Welford Road encounter if it meant playing for Scotland against England at Twickenham the following day.
"I'm made up for Euan. He's such a genuine, honest guy," said Euan's teammate Andy Craig in today's Herald. "He's the best trainer I've ever seen and his match statistics are always outstanding. He doesn't miss a tackle. It's been a surprise for him to be brought in but I'm confident he'll take his chance. We used 30-odd players in last season's championship, so it's a real opportunity for him."
