It takes a Biggar man...

Biggar man Scott Lawson will make his first Scotland start later this month
Former Biggar player, Scott Lawson admits he is proud to have put his old club on the map with regards to international rugby.

The Glasgow hooker will make his Scotland debut against the Barbarians at Pittodrie, Aberdeen later this month.

Scott said on the Sporting Life website: "I don't think anyone from Biggar has gone this far in the game.

"I was taken down to mini-rugby there in primary three every Saturday, although I think I was taken just to get me out the house. I didn't think of playing for Scotland then but I took to the game and I was always there.

"I played for the Biggar Colts, then Scotland under-18s, 19s and 21s and then played for the Biggar first team at 16. When we got promoted from the third to the second division I got the chance to go to Melrose for a season and then I moved to Glasgow.

"It's been steps up all the way and hopefully this is the next one."

Scott Lawson is a true legend in Biggar. And example of the spirit the team presented to the the rest of Scotland during the season. Hopefullu with McLaren, Dunlop et al having another year of top flight rugby they can make the transition also. C'mon the Biggar!!!
