"It was fantastic to get my first run," said Johnnie who was also involved in setting up two other tries. "To score the first try in my first international is just the biggest bonus I could hope for. I was in the right place at the right time. I ran a basic support line and was really lucky to get the off-load from Jason White for the try.
"I hadn't played with Jason before, but his leadership skills and his general all-round ability are a massive stand-out. It is really encouraging for someone like me to have people like Jason and Nathan [Hines] and Scott [Murray] there because it makes it so much easier for me to come in and do a job. I felt the game went really well. Obviously there were parts that were pretty scrappy but overall I felt we dominated. It was a good game and I enjoyed being part of it.
"First phase in an international is a lot quicker and it is going to take a lot of getting used to. It was a big step up from anything I'd done before so playing a team like the Pacific Islanders is going to be an even bigger step up if I get the chance again."
