Lineen demands support from the Glasgow crowd

Sean Lineen want the Glasgow support to play their part on Friday
Sean Lineen has named the Warriors line up to take part in the 1872 Cup tomorrow night at 8.00pm at Firhill Arena.

Scotland centre Andrew Henderson returns to action for Glasgow taking the place of Daryl Gibson at inside centre as the Warriors seek to atone for their 35-31 defeat to their Scottish rivals at Murrayfield on December 28.

Warriors coach Sean Lineen makes just one further change to the side which beat Newport Gwent Dragons on March 30, with Scotland hooker Fergus Thomson replacing Dougie Hall.

Sean praised the support his side received from the Glasgow fans in the last derby clash against Edinburgh and is looking for a repeat performance from the stands this time round, but with the result on the field going the way of the Warriors.

Sean said: "The last game against Edinburgh was a great advert for Scottish rugby. Our travelling support was fantastic and I hope the same atmosphere is replicated in front of a huge Glasgow crowd at Firhill, obviously with the result going to us. Our supporters could mean points for us at the end of the day."

Having won their first away Magners League game of the season in their last outing, Sean is looking forward to what promises to be a tense inter-city derby, he added: "We have some momentum going into this one after a character-building win away to the Dragons a fortnight ago. But tomorrow night is shaping up to be a fantastic game. These types of matches are always one-offs."

Only six points separate Glasgow and Edinburgh in the Magners League and Edinburgh have one hand on the 1872 Challenge Cup having beaten Glasgow 35-31 in the previous meeting at Murrayfield. The team with the best aggregate score over the two legs will lift the 1872 Challenge Cup tomorrow night.

That looks a good side. Andy Newman is handy on the bench to add a bit of gristle in the second half. And the Evans brothers should be champin at the bit to get noticed. I believe Glasgow can impress in this game. Lots of guys with something to prove. Godman v Parks will be fun too, and the back rows will be having a ding dong. Wish I was at home to watch it!!!

At last - looks like a good side - I hope the Glasgow back row can get one over on their counterparts. Sadly will not be there as stuck in Hackney province, Londonistan, but will be cheering from a distance as always. Good luck Glasgow.
