Season ticket news

The Warriors have launched their season ticket packages for 2008/09 as well as confirming their home pre-season friendly which will be against English Premiership side Bristol on Friday 22 August.

Season tickets prices for the new season are frozen for adults, remaining at £150, a saving of £65 compared to buying tickets for individual games. That’s the equivalent saving of four free games!

A new structure has been implemented for concessions and under-18s.

The concession ticket will be available to students and OAPs, priced at £80, with supporters under the age of 18 getting to see 13 games of top-flight professional rugby for only £30, the equivalent of just £2.30 per game.

In addition to the new season ticket pricing, Warriors fans will also receive additional benefits.

Firstly, season ticket holders will be able to attend the pre-season friendly against Bristol and the away Magners League fixture against Edinburgh at Murrayfield free of charge.

Also included is the opportunity to attend a Partick Thistle league game at Firhill absolutely free (more details of this offer will follow in due course).

Glasgow Warriors captain, Alastair Kellock said: “This season has been encouraging both on and off the park so it’s great to be able to offer our fans the new season ticket packages before our last home game of the season.

“The players have really enjoyed the experience of playing at Firhill and the support we have had from the stands has been great. I remember when we ran out against Saracens in the Heineken Cup to a record crowd in January, it was a phenomenal feeling and one I hope we can replicate many more times in 2008/09.”

Chairperson of the Glasgow Warriors supporters’ club, Carolyn Armstrong, added: “Next years’ season ticket packages are good value for fans, especially under 18s, and I think it’s the first time I’ve ever been able to get my season ticket before the end of the current campaign.

“The atmosphere in the Jackie Husband stand has been fantastic throughout the 2007/08 season so I hope more fans who have been along to Firhill will be attracted to the new packages to become loyal supporters of the Warriors.”

Existing Glasgow Warriors OAP and student* season ticket holders will be able to buy a concession season ticket for the forthcoming season for just £65 providing they purchase their season ticket before Friday 1 August 2008.

The Warriors will continue to operate an unreserved seating policy next season.

Fifteen reasons to get your hands on a Glasgow Warriors season ticket for the 2008/09 campaign:
ONE pre-season friendly against Bristol
THREE home Heineken Cup pool games
NINE home Magners League games
ONE away Magners League game against Edinburgh
ONE home Partick Thistle league game

* = eligible for a student season ticket in 2008/09

Check the new match day admission prices; in other words, anyone that doesn't buy a season ticket is getting right royally shafted.

It's just not feasible for every supporter to commit to a season ticket.

disagree - as someone pointed out, our concession tickets have been very cheap for past seasons, and adult tickets are the same for category B matches (categorising matches is something nearly every other team in the league does)

luckyrugger .. where else in Glasgow would you get as good entertainment as Friday night there for £20? .. no, maybe don't answer that! ;)

Hehe. My first comment was perhaps a touch reactionary, but the price of a ticket for those Grade A games has doubled in 2 seasons. I don't think the lure of the season ticket will get us many more regulars, which should be the primary concern.

as pointed out in the forum you are now getting a seat rather than a terrace ticket (wether you want to or not) so you are not comparing like with like
