Jamie Lennard has been linked with a move to Glasgow
Glasgow Warriors have been linked with a move for Doncaster full-back Jamie Lennard.

The top points scorer in National One is understood to be leaving Doncaster at the end of the season and Glasgow are among a number of Premiership and Magners League clubs vying for his signature.

Lennard is an England U21 international.

Glasgow and Doncaster have arranged a pre-season friendly at Castle Park on August 21.

He plays Fly Half as well that is where he has been playing recently for Doncaster. Was excellent by all reports against Leeds at the weekend.

Colin Shaw.....remember him any one? Never ben given a fair crack of the whip

Potentially a very clever move if he can gain Scotland qualification. Get cover in 2 key positions (outhalf and fullback) at lower cost than some of the alternatives, bring on a potential Scotland player, and cut off some of the talent oool for England.

(Not that they're guaranteed to pick their best players anyway - e.g. Myler and Banaher).

Toulon have probably already called him though.

Would seem to suggest that Glasgow has given up on getting Rory Lamont.

Also would agree that Colin Shaw hasn't been given a fair crap at the whip though think Colin needs to be more assertive when he is playing especially at full back. Maybe watch the way Bernie takes hold of the game and provides an aggressive offensive and defensive threat - god sounds like a review of an nfl player

Where is it stated that Glasgow are looking at him? On the Doncaster site it says that he has been released from the 2nd year of his contract to take up a contract with a GP or ML team, it does not mention teams.

If its true then it does finish off the Rory Lamont return one would think!

Still need another Winger and certainly some strength upfront.

I think we will see Colin Shaw against Munster - He was not released by Glasgow for the 7's team in Hong Kong and Australia, Rumour has it that Sean has given him to the rest of the season to win a deal next year.

That's very kind hearted of Lineen, ignore him all season and then give him a few games to win a contract for next season. Are all the Glasgow players given this "opportunity"??

Colin Shaw was injured for the first dozen or so games.

Anyone have any idea if he is potentially already Scotland qualified? Would seem to me that given we have two very good full backs at U20- one of them already linked up with Glasgow, this would seem a strange move.

He was born in Kent, I know that does not answer the question coz his parents or grandparents could be Scottish.

You would think that there would be a link as otherwise it would be a strange move, for us and him. Considering he is hardly a proven performer YET. He has not played that many games for Rotheram or Doncaster after being released by Worcester.

Maybe his agent only told him the Warriors were in for him and that is why he is thinking about signing.

The last England U21 to join Glasgow did ok.

Yes, but that's because he is Scottish, Gordon! .. it doesn't answer the question about Jamie?
