James Eddie is loving life with the Warriors
Glasgow's James Eddie has admitted his relief at relaunching his career with the Warriors.

James thought his time in pro rugby was over when his contract came to an end in the summer, but the popular forward was thrown a lifeline by head coach Sean Lineen.

The 26-year-old has grabbed his chance, displaying the powerful ball carrying that made him a favourite with supporetrs, and looks like he has finally put his injury troubles behind him.

James told the Evening Times: “It is amazing to think that in the final game of last season we were at Leinster and I was in the dressing room afterwards and thinking to myself that was pretty much that in respect of Glasgow.

“But over the summer Sean had a chat with me and the opportunity came to join back up. I am just loving every minute of it.

“When I came on against Leinster a fortnight back it really heightened my satisfaction in playing a decent role in a great win at the same ground where I had thought my Warriors career was over.”

James starts for Glasgow in Saturday's match with Cardiff Blues and he has has no doubt what kind of encounter is in store.

James said: “Despite World Cup commitments, Cardiff are still being able to put out a team full of international players and they try and use that experience to bully you up front.

“We have such a young side that it will be up to the old stagers like me and John Beattie to make sure that doesn’t happen.

“This is an opportunity I did not think I was going to get and I am determined to make the most of it.”
