Ed was a recent addition to Scotland’s Six Nations squad after a knee injury forced the withdrawal of his Warriors team-mate Moray Low. He was outstanding against European champions Leinster on Sunday and says he wants to commit to Glasgow for the long-haul.
Ed told the Evening Times: “I have started talks with Warriors over a new deal as my current one is up at the end of the season.
“It is very early days but I want to stay with Glasgow and kick on.
“There is a buzz about the place and with the move to Scotstoun next season and the players that have been brought in, like Rory and Sean Lamont, and David Lemi, exciting times await.”
Ed added: “It is a massive honour to be called up to the Six Nations squad.
“I have had a few ‘A’ caps but to be asked to move up to the full squad is exciting.
“As a rugby player you can’t get any better and I am now just hungry to make the most of the opportunity.
“I felt I had been playing well and maybe Sunday’s game against Leinster tipped things my way.
“Possibly it was the best game I have played for Glasgow, but personal satisfaction is diminished as we came so close to getting a result but ultimately came away empty handed.”
