Fun times at Scotstoun

Nikola Matawalu was man-of-the-match in the win over Dragons
Nikola Matawalu marked his first Scotstoun start with a man of the match performance in Glasgow's 37-6 win over Dragons.

The Fijian scrum-half lit up the game with a sharpness and willingness to run with ball. He rounded off his night with a tap penalty and flip pass to put Tommy Seymour in for the bonus point try.

Glasgow back row man Josh Strauss says Nico has made an impact on and off the pitch. Josh told the Record: “Niko has already created a huge impression since he arrived – he makes rugby fun both on and off the pitch. He even makes training fun. He is a livewire who makes things happen.

“But I wouldn’t want anyone thinking it was a one-man show – the whole squad performed well.

“We started at pace and kept up the momentum. When you do that, you force the opposition into mistakes, especially when you retain the ball as we did.”
