The former Melrose skipper joined Glasgow last year but has only now come into his own for Warriors in the final campaign of his current two-year deal.
Scott claimed the man-of-the-match off-the-bench in the away win over Treviso and he guided Glasgow to a club record sixth win on the bounce in the PRO12 over Dragons, at Scotstoun, last Friday.
Scott told the Evening Times: "It has taken me a while to get my first start at 10 but I felt like I did a decent job.
"Obviously with Duncan Weir being injured and Ruaridh Jackson away with Scotland I have an opportunity here and hopefully I have taken it.
"When we have our next game against Leinster, at Scotstoun on November 23, I want to be making it as difficult a decision for Gregor Townsend to drop me as possible.
"But I feel I am finally finding my feet at Glasgow and am starting to deliver.
"What is vital at stand-off is that you remain as positive as possible. If something doesn't go well then you can't afford to be negative as that will effect the team.
"Obviously you have to have belief in yourself and I have that.
"It has been tough being farmed out at Aberdeen but I have stayed as positive as I can and now I feel like I have got my reward for that."
