Warriors target home play-off tie

Dougie Hall says Edinburgh will want to derail Glasgow's play-off hopes
Dougie Hall says his former Edinburgh team-mates will be out to derail Glasgow's bid to secure a home tie in the PRO12 play-offs.

But the hooker says he and his fellow-Warriors are determined to make the most of the opportunity they've given themselves.

Dougie told Press Association Sport: "There's the chance of a home play-off spot and that's a massive carrot for us. That's something we would love to bring to Glasgow. We would love to have the opportunity to play for a final spot at Scotstoun.

"I think this is the best opportunity we have had since I have been here. We have seen in previous years, it's so hard to go away to these top sides and win.

"We will hopefully have 10,000 fans on Saturday night. The stadium looks brilliant, it looks like the venue of a major sporting event, which it is going to hopefully be."

Edinburgh could destroy those ambitions though, as they bid to secure a five-point victory that would regain the 1872 Cup.

Dougie spent five years at Edinburgh before returning to Glasgow in 2007, said: "They are good players who have had a tough season and will want nothing more than to come here and upset us, and possibly deny us a top-two spot.

"I know the guys, I know some of the guys really well, and I know that they will be hurting badly. I know this will be a game they will have circled in their diary to say 'let's take something out of the season'. They will be targeting it."

But Dougie added: "We have come too far to throw it away by getting careless or not preparing right for these last few games.

"I've been very proud of the way we have stepped up to the challenges so far and they keep on coming."
