The Scotland centre's move from Harlequins to Scotstoun was announced last month but The Rugby Paper understands Jones had talks with Stade Français officials last week.
Stade would likely have to pay to release the player from his contract. Jones is thought to be reconsidering his move to Scotstoun after the departure of head coach Danny Wilson.
