Chris, as an 18-year-old Fettes College pupil, made his Scotland sevens debut in the IRB’s New Zealand tournament in Wellington in February 2007, and he was again in the squad for the USA event at San Diego a week later.
In October 2007 he was in the Rugby Ecosse Scotland squad in the Singapore sevens, and that was followed with his selection for Scotland ’s visit to Dubai and George ( South Africa ) for the first two tournaments of the IRB’s 2007-2008 world series. Previously, Chris had played for Edinburgh under-18 as well as Scotland under-18, and he went on to start as outside centre in all five of Scotland’s matches in the IRB Under 19 World Championship in Belfast in April 2007.
His under-20 international debut was as Scotland’s left wing in the Falkirk match against France on the opening day of the age group’s 2008 six nations championship: the following week he played against Wales under-20 at Rodney Parade, Newport.
Chris, a member of Scottish Rugby’s Senior National Academy, has also played for the East of Scotland under-16 cricket team.
