Parks is still likely to join Glasgow

In the weeks leading up to his departure, Kiwi Searancke had identified a number of players he wished to bring to Glasgow. He also decided on the players in the existing squad who were not in his plans for next season.

Chief Executive David Jordan has insisted that the departure of Searancke will not stop the changes at the club, which means that such as Dan Parks, the former Australian under-21 internationalist who is Scottish qualified, is still likely to make the move from Australia to Glasgow this summer. He gained experience of European competition during a short-term contract at Leeds Tykes last season and had been targeted by Searancke as a young stand-off with great potential.

This evening on BBC Radio Scotland, David Jordan said that he would favour the appointment of a home-based coach and assistant to replace Kiwi Searancke and Steve Anderson. He confirmed that Sean Lineen was one of the names in the frame for the post but that no official talks had taken place so far.
