Gordon Simpson, Jason White, Donnie Macfadyen, Tommy Hayes, and Andy Nicol could not be considered due to injury.
Graeme Beveridge believes the players can overcome the recent upheaval at the club."If a team is backed into a corner in the way we have been then very often a team will get the bit between their teeth and come out fighting," he explained. "We have been through a very, very bad run of results and it is high time we pulled together and played our way out of this and got a few more good results. With our coach being dismissed I think we are in as deep a hole as we possibly could be. When everybody is writing you off, though, it can stir the pride in players and help foster team spirit."

Ian Rankin is the latest name to be linked with the Glasgow coaching position. There has been some speculation that the Edinburgh Rugby manager may be ready to throw his hat into the ring for a return to coaching by applying for a vacancy at Glasgow. But Rankin today stonewalled suggestions he might make a bid to move west along the M8.
"No comment," was the response by Rankin, who has coached Scotland A and Edinburgh Reivers previously with success, when the question being asked by fans was put to him.
Adding to intrigue, though, is the fact the majority of the professional teams are regarded as being in an extremely fluid state, personnel-wise, at present with officials playing straight bats to inquiries that the position of team manager at Edinburgh is under review at a time of cost cutting.
