Glasgow new boys Cammy Mather and Matt Proudfoot have been included in Scotland's 50-strong preliminary Rugby World Cup squad.

Proudfoot trained with the Scotland squad during the tour to South Africa in June and now has the chance to add to the three caps he won for Scotland in 1998. Cammy Mather won the last of his four caps in 2000.

The other Glasgow Warriors included in the squad are Graeme Beveridge, Andrew Henderson, Rory Kerr, Glenn Metcalfe, Moffat">Stuart Moffat, Gordon Bulloch, Donnie Macfadyen, Jon Petrie and Roland Reid.

  • The Glasgow Hawks website has posted some comments from ex-Hawk, Campbell Aitken about Glasgow-bound Dan Parks. Campbell is now a clubmate of Dan's at Eastern Suburbs in Sydney. According to Campbell, Dan is a "...fantastic naturally gifted stand off..." and will be "...a fantastic addition to Glasgow..."

  • Barry Irving has signed a one-year contract with Tarbes who play in the French Pro 2 Division. Barry's time at Glasgow was blighted by injury but he has a chance to get his career back on track at the Pyrenees based club.
