The former Hawk was in great form in the warm-up victory over Newcastle but he said: "Facing a team like Cardiff in a competitive situation will be a massive step up.
"However, this is why I have wanted to be a pro rugby player and I am relishing the challenge.''
Backs coach Sean Lineen said: "If you are good enough you are good enough -no matter your age. Graeme can do a sound job both in attack and defence.
