Kenny will be starting for Glasgow for the first time since May 2002, when as a Glasgow Hawks player he scored a try in the 37-20 win in the Welsh/Scottish League match against Swansea at Hughenden. "It's been a long wait – 16 months," he remarked.
Glasgow borrowed Kenny for the last four games of that season and the future looked bright for the scrum-half when he was given a professional contract, but after a brief appearance in a pre-season friendly, Kenny fell out of the picture at Hughenden during last season.
Matt Proudfoot returns from Scotland duty to make his first Celtic League appearance for Glasgow. Glasgow also include one of their five World Cup players, Graeme Beveridge, among the seven replacements.
"It's great to have Bevvy back – however short the time," Hugh Campbell remarked.
Beveridge won't be with the Glasgow squad for long as Scotland's World Cup campaign in Australia begins in little over a month from now.
Gareth Maclure and Sam Pinder, have been ruled out because of injuries. Maclure had a face knock in the Cardiff game, and Pinder is to have an operation to repair damaged hand tendons.
