Speaking to Canadian Rugby News, Kevin said: "I haven't signed on the dotted line yet, but the terms have been agreed upon."
"I have had financial hardship for the last ten years as a student so I know what that's all about," he said with a laugh. "It will be good to be able to just concentrate on playing now."
Kevin was speaking from Oxford, where he was working the last of his shifts at the student athletic facility. With the pro contract, working part time to keep food on the table will be a thing of the past.
Kevin split the 2003/04 season with Oxford University and the Pertemps Bees of England's National Division One - as well as playing on Canada's World Cup squad in Australia.
Glasgow have identified their pack as an area that needs strengthening.
"They struggled a bit this year in the Celtic League - all three Scottish teams did to be honest," said the Saskatchewan native. "In the tables things didn't look too good but from the results Glasgow were in quite a few games.
"In speaking to the coaches it was their impression that they were one or two experienced players short. In coach Hugh Campbell's eyes I think I am coming in not only as an impact player, but as a calming influence in a certain sense."
Kevin says that it was a combination of his play at the Pertemps Bees - which included a Powergen Cup quarter-final win over Zurich Premiership side London Wasps, his efforts at Oxford and his work rate at the World Cup that caught the eye of the Warriors management. While he won't go so far as to say what his specific role in the team will be he offers, "they wouldn't be bringing me in to sit on the bench. I have a big task and there are high expectations but I am looking forward to that."
