On the possibility of leaving Glasgow, JP said "There was a temptation, but I looked at it long and hard, and decided I would be better to stay up here. If I did go it may not be possible to play International rugby, and there was no way I wanted to give up playing for Scotland."
"I'm enjoying my role at Glasgow and have a lot of responsibility," he said. "If I wasn't happy with the rugby side of things and the way things are shaping up here, I would have left, but I can see a lot of potential."
"Losing senior players like Cammy Mather, Kenny Logan, and with rumours of Gordon Bulloch maybe going, it may be difficult, but we've got some excellent players coming through and it is great to see them develop. Take a player like Stevie Swindall. I thought he was a good club player and now he has made the step up, he has had some excellent performances for Glasgow Warriors this season and thoroughly deserves the contract."
"Others like Scott Lawson have been given a chance and have taken it and it just shows there is talent there if the opportunites are offered."
"I'm pretty optimistic, particularly about Glasgow, but I also see good signs at Edinburgh and The Borders and hopefully if we can all be doing well, then it will filter up to the national side."
