Hughenden update

Posted by Editor on January 18, 2007 06:23 PM | 3 comments | Print | E-mail author

Glasgow Warriors are due to play Saracens in Pool 2 of the European Challenge Cup at Hughenden tomorrow night (Friday 19 January) with a 7.30pm kick-off.

Groundstaff are working hard to give the best possible chance of the game being played at Hughenden.

Scottish Rugby is currently exploring a number of alternative venues within the Glasgow Warriors' catchment area should Hughenden prove unplayable.

French referee David Rosich will inspect Hughenden tomorrow morning.

What are the alternative venues??? I would reckon only Firhill Stadium would be playable due to undersoil heating. Any others??

Don't think the issue is undersoil heating - unless we're going to boil all the water away...

The issue is lighting. Where has flood lights? Can they play in Hampden? When are we to find out about this? Why has it taken them untill the eleventh hour to even make a start on alternatives? Which chimp is responsible for these plans?

Not good enough, I really feel for the Saracens support who will be travelling up.
