Lineen led the praise for his playmaker and the way he led the side after they struggled early on. "The first five minutes was a demonstration of what not to do," he said.
"The guys stuck in and grew into it as the game went on. Eventually the defence got sorted out and then the Dan Parks show got under way. This is at least a level down from international rugby but it was a fine performance and the guys around him sometimes made it easy for him too."
Andy Robinson, Edinburgh's head coach admitted to disappointment but paid tribute to the way the home side had outplayed his in terms of taking their chances.
"As happens, if you don't take your opportunities you allow the opposition to get into it," he said. "We had two or three chances that we needed to take to give us some breathing space and we then allowed Dan Parks to control the game. You saw tonight how well he can do that if he is given time and all credit to him for the way he has come back under enormous pressure following the internationals."
