Scottish champions Ayr went down 32-7 to Doncaster Knights at Castle Park. Former Biggar , Currie, Nottingham and Edinburgh fly-half scored 17 points - sealing the bonus point with a late interception try.
Hooker Stephen Adair scored Ayr's only try with Mark Stewart converting.
Newly-formed Gael Force slipped to a 29-8 defeat by Cornish Pirates on their long trip to Camborne on Sunday.
Hooker Dave Ward sealed the bonus point for the Pirates with Glasgow winger Chris Kinloch scoring a consolation try for Gael Force on a disappointing weekend for the three Scottish sides.
Gael Force coach, Stevie Gemmell said: “As a team, we didn’t perform. We went into the backyard of a team that is doing well in the English Championship and they picked their strongest side – they really want to do well in the competition.
“Credit to them, they played well – they carried the ball well and challenged at the set pieces.
“But the area where they won the game was in the contact, both in defence and attack. Too many times we didn’t compete well enough in the contact areas.
“We tried to play an up tempo game, but couldn’t do that because we struggled in the contact areas.
“We didn’t do the basics well enough and every player selected needs to understand that this is a difficult competition and there are no easy places to come.”
Nottingham edged out Scottish Cup holders Heriot's 5-0 at Goldenacre on Saturday. Glasgow pro Dave McCall turned out for Heriot's.
Gael Force face Exeter next weekend while Ayr are at home to Rotherham and Heriot's away to Coventry.
