Thom Evans will start for Scotland on Saturday
Glasgow's Thom Evans has been named in the Scotland team to face Argentina at Murrayfield on Saturday.

Thom's inclusion is one of three changes to the starting line-up that battled to a 9-8 win over Australia.

Thom comes in on the left wing in place of Simon Danielli with Alex Grove shuffling along to inside centre with Graeme Morrison dropping out. Ben Cairns comes in at outside centre.

John Barclay earns a well-deserved rest after Saturday's heroics with Alan MacDonald winning his first cap.

Chris Cusiter has recovered from a head knock and continues as skipper.

Feel it is a bit harsh on Barclay, who had an outstanding game on Saturday, especially given that there are others in the pack who didn't have the best games or at least were not as noticeable as Barclay.

The other two changes are not that surprising though I thought De Luca might of won a starting berth wih Cairns on the bench

I could name several players I would rather see in there .. and others who put their hand up on Friday at the A team game (Thom didn't get the ball in the borders but AR knows what he can do).. but isn't it great that we trust the coach? Great to see that he has given Thom a run .. go run Thom ...Remind him what you can do!!

I agree - he may deserve a well earned rest but i bet he would rather be out there on Saturday puting himself on the line, regardless how sore or tired he is. Thought he had one of his best games in a Scotland shirt - could at least have had him on the bench.

Must confess to being non-plussed at Barclay's omission. He was excellent against Australia. That said, we need to trust our coach. He's trying to develop players to build genuine strength-in-depth for the national side and the best way to do that is to blood players in "less important" games. No disrespect to the Argies, but I believe the Autumn tests are about experimenting ahead of the 6N which is, after all, the main focus for Scotland.

This looks like a really strong team. I'm excited at the attacking potential of having Evans back. We didn't even try to attack the Aussies last week - probably wisely. As Robbo said, winning is all that matters and we won. Hopefully though we'll get to see a bit more of our attack potential this Saturday. GOOD LUCK!!!!
