Illness has hampered Colin's attempts to get back in the mix and he hasn't featured since November, but the winger is eager to show what he can do when Wasps come calling at Firhill.
Colin said in the Evening Times: “You always want to test yourself against the best and Wasps certainly come into that category.
“It has not been easy to be sitting in the stands and watching the boys playing and now that my chance is here I am determined to take it.
“I will be up against Tom Varndell, who is one of the best finishers in European rugby, and a decent performance would hopefully give me the chance to stay in the side.
“We know that we cannot make the quarter-finals and that the consolation slot in the Amlin Cup is pretty much gone, but there is still an awful lot of pride to play for in our last two pool games against Wasps and the Dragons.”
Colin didn't play when the Warriors lost 38-26 in their first meeting with Wasps at Adams Park in October.
He said: “Although we came back strongly and scored two tries the game was effectively over after the first 20 minutes.
“We know that can’t be allowed to happen this time around and playing in front of our support at Firhill there is a lot at stake for the boys.
“Wasps are very good around the contact areas and that was an area they punished us in, but we must improve our discipline.
“In recent games against Edinburgh and Munster we have had a guy sin-binned every time and our penalty count at Munster last Sunday cost us the game.
“So that is something that we have been focusing on this week in the build-up.”
The winger has another year of his Warriors contract but says it's still vital he figures regularly again over the Magners League run-in.
“There is no getting away from the fact that this is a big game for both me and the club,” he said.
“We have had a few close-run things of late without coming out with the win and you never want losing to be a habit.
“Having been out for the last four or five games this is a fresh start for me and I intend to make the most of it.”
