The 24-year-old loosehead, who trained with the club during the campaign just ended and came off the bench to make his Magners League debut against Ospreys on March 5, has put pen to paper on a two-year deal and is set to provide stern competition for the likes of Ryan Grant, Jon Welsh and Ed Kalman.
Head coach Sean Lineen today welcomed the acquisition of Gordon, citing the player’s uncompromising attitude and appetite for self-improvement as key factors in the move.
Sean confirmed: “We’ve had a good chance to get to know Gordon over the last few months when he’s been training with us, and there’s no doubt that the necessary ability and desire are there for him to progress and do well for this club.
“He’s impressed the coaches and the squad not only with the technical aspects of his game, which are all very sound, but with the determination that he has to keep improving as a player.
“That approach is going to stand him in very good stead as he finds his feet in the professional game, and we’ll be giving him all the support he needs to hit the ground running and perform to the level we’re very confident he can reach.”
Gordon said: “I’m delighted to have been given this chance by Glasgow, and I’d like to thank Sean and the other coaches for the faith that they’ve shown in me. My task now is to work as hard as I possibly can to prove my worth and make the most of the opportunity.”
