James came off the bench with 12 minutes left on the clock to help the Warriors to their first win in Belfast since December 2009.
James told glasgowwarriors.org: “It was a tough game, we know we didn’t play the best rugby but we dug deep and built the phases and it was good to score the try at the end. It was a fantastic team performance.
“For the second half we were on our own line for a good half hour and we showed great character. It was brilliant to be involved in that performance.
“We just dug deep and in the last 10 minutes we managed to put a lot of pressure on them in their 22. Gordon Reid did really well setting up the try and overall it was a really good team effort.”
The Warriors will now prepare for Leinster's visit to Scotstoun on Friday and James knows they’ve got some work to do in the week ahead.
He added; “The games only get bigger and bigger and we know we’ll need to work hard at training next week because that wasn’t our best performance.
“We’ll dig deep again next week and hopefully we can get a result at home on front of our own supporters.”
