New deal for Gregor Brown

Gregor Brown has signed a new deal with Warriors
Gregor Brown has signed a new contract that will keep him at Glasgow Warriors until at least the summer of 2027.

Having initially joined the club's academy in the summer of 2019, the Aberdonian has enjoyed a breakout 12 months in Glasgow colours, going from strength to strength for both club and country.

The 23-year-old - equally comfortable in both the second-row and back-row - made his professional debut off the bench away to Leinster in February 2021, and has gone on to make 31 appearances to date.

His most recent outing saw him make a significant impact off the bench in Friday night's victory over Munster, securing two turnovers in a physical shift to help his side to a valuable bonus-point win in the race for the playoffs.

A late inclusion in the matchday 23 for the 2024 BKT URC Grand Final, Brown was at the heart of the match-winning maul defence at Loftus Versfeld, helping to secure the crucial turnover with the clock in the red for Franco Smith's squad.

His form across the 2023/24 season saw him selected in the Scotland squad for the 2024 summer tour, making his senior international debut in victory over Canada in Ottawa.

A product of Robert Gordon's College, Brown was prominent throughout the 2025 Guinness Six Nations, including an impressive shift at the Stade de France upon being included in a Scotland starting XV for the first time in the competition.

Speaking at Glasgow Children's Hospital Charity ahead of this weekend's Plaster It Purple meeting with the Emirates Lions at Scotstoun, Brown told glasgowwarriors.org: "I'm buzzing, to be honest.

"It was a really easy decision. I grew up supporting Glasgow Warriors and watched the team lift the 2015 title, so to be a part of a league-winning squad with this club last season was a real dream come true. It was unreal and something I'll never forget.

"I feel like I've really developed my game since signing as a professional here. The coaching group of Franco, Pete [Murchie] and Nige [Carolan] are a world-class group, who have all been so important for my own development. They've really pushed my game on and I owe a lot to them for helping me kick on.

"I've definitely learnt a lot from the moment I walked in the door, and that's what this environment is all about I'd say - improving the individual to help the team perform. It's weird looking back on the last few years, because while it's not been that long, it feels like ages! I can't wait to kick on and keep developing.

"The past year has been absolutely mental, from winning the league to making my Scotland debut and pushing into the Six Nations just gone. I just want to keep my head down, keep working and hopefully more good things will follow.

"Thanks to all the supporters, too - the support you give us and the atmosphere you create makes such a difference. The boys love playing at Scotstoun and we can't wait to hear you all get behind us again this Saturday for Plaster It Purple."

Head Coach Franco Smith added: "Gregor's development has been extremely impressive over the last two seasons, and we are delighted to retain a player of his potential.

"He is someone who is willing to give their all to be a Glasgow Warrior, with his performances in both the back-row and second-row showing the full range of his skill set.

"We're excited to continue to work with him over the coming seasons, as we work to help him become the best version of himself both on and off the field."
