Speaking to Premier Sports, Smith said: "I never expected Zebre to roll over to be honest. We made it loose and the boys wanted to get a lot of it done in the first half but there were just too many soft turnovers. It's the first time in a long time that the sun was shining and there wasn't the same pressure as next week will have. We will take the win but it will be very different next week.
"I hate that word complacency because it's got no smell, no taste, no foot prints but it's always present. We try and fight that and it slipped in tonight. Next week is obviously a different challenge, it's an opportunity at home and there's a lot to come from this team. Maybe tonight we weren't as accurate as we should've been.
"It is going to be important to understand that ability in a play off game. Most of the time we are our own worst enemy. What's fantastic is that tonight the season is done, we draw a line under 2024 and we focus on play-off rugby only. It's a completely different mind set."
