Pete wants perfect send-off for departing Warriors

Peter Murchie went over for two tries in Saturday's win over Edinburgh
Glasgow full-back Peter Murchie wants to make sure the club's departing Warriors leave on a high.

Ruaridh Jackson, Chris Cusiter and Moray Low are leaving at the end of the season and Pete says a PRO12 winner's medal would be an ideal send-off.

Ruaridh announced last week that he was joining Wasps at the end of the season, while Chris and Moray have also agreed summer switches to England after moves to Sale and Exeter were confirmed.

As he was coming off Ruaridh received a warm reception from a record Scotstoun crowd as Gregor Townsend's men claimed a 37-34 win to put them second position with two games to play of the regular season.

Pete said: "It was nice to see the reception Jacko got. The likes of him, Cuss and Moray have all been great servants to Glasgow and deserve all the accolades they get. They have been brilliant for this club.

"It would be perfect if we could send those guys off with a winner's medal.

"Now that is up to everyone else in the squad to make it happen. We are all totally motivated as a team to do it for each other."

Glasgow were well worth the win although two late Edinburgh tries made the final score closer than it should have been.

"Our defence coach Matt Taylor isn't too happy with us after allowing those two late tries to be scored," said Pete.

"We should not be letting that kind of thing happen. We will have to do better going forward."
