The Scottish Thistles made it to the semi finals and were unlucky not to get through to the final in a game that went to extra time. New Zealand side, Ponsonby scored in the final minutes to equalise, and were first to score in extra time, winning 24-19.
Ponsonby went on to the final where they were beaten by the students from Stellenbosh University, who made it through after beating Boroughmuir in the other semi final. The score in the final was 36-35.
