Things moving fast for Finn Russell

Finn Russell could be in action with Scotland over the summer
It's been a whirlwind few weeks for Glasgow stand-off Finn Russell.

Just a couple of months back Finn was playing club rugby for Ayr against Gala, but his recent performances for Glasgow have put him in contention for Scotland action over the summer.

Finn, who has signed a two year deal with Glasgow, also has a PRO12 Grand Final against Leinster at the RDS to prepare for.

Finn told the Evening Times: "Two months back I was playing for Ayr in the Premiership against Gala and to come from that a few weeks ago to winning a PRO12 semi-final is hard to comprehend.

"My aims at the start of the year were just to make sure that every time Ruaridh (Jackson) or Duncy (Weir) were away with Scotland that I got the nod and then to try and make the most of that opportunity.

"So it's just brilliant to get as many games as I have and hopefully I have repaid Gregor Townsend for his faith in me. But although it has been an unbelievable season for me and totally surpassed my wildest dreams, it isn't finished yet.

"We have one game left and that is Leinster in the final. After playing in the semi it just makes you desperate to run out at the RDS.

"That's nine games in a row we've won so we've got real momentum going into the final now. It would have been really special if it had been in Scotland, but even although it is at the RDS we will go with the same positive mentality.

"We definitely believe we can win it. We ran Leinster close over there last time. We know the intensity we are going to have to perform with but winning that semi against Munster has given us all the belief in the world."
