Gregor Hiddleston says he just wants to keep playing games
Gregor Hiddleston hopes he'll have the chance to continue his Champions Cup journey when Glasgow travel to France to take on Toulon on Sunday.

Hiddleston made an impressive competitive debut in last year's tournament away to Exeter and then came off the bench in the round of 16 defeat to Harlequins.

The 22-year-old made his home European debut in last week's win over Sale Sharks and now wants to help the Warriors keep building momentum against a team they've played twice in the last two seasons.

Hiddleston told Scotland Rugby News: "Playing in the Champions Cup last weekend at home was unbelievable. The crowd was great and it was a terrific win as well.

"So, it would be cool if I was involved again this weekend. We know Toulon pretty well having played against them in the Challenge Cup final and then last year here at Scotstoun.

"They're a big European team and these are the games you want to play in. I love the Champions Cup. I made my debut against Exeter in this competition and loved being out there on the weekend. The best thing for me at my age is just to keep playing."

Franco Smith often speaks about the versatility of players and Hiddleston came on as a loose forward in the recent win over Scarlets.

"I've done that before last season, and in Super 6 I played back row as well," he added. "Wherever I have to play, I'll play. I'm not too fussed. It's good that there are a few of us that can move about, especially when it comes to those crunch points in the season when international boys are away and we've not got the same availability."

Hiddleston turned out for Scotland A against Chile and many observers think a full cap can't be far away but he says he's just happy to see team-mates like Max Williamson and Alex Samuel make that step up.

"I absolutely loved being in the A camp, getting a feel for it and seeing what the senior team do," he added. "We trained with them a lot and pretty much mirrored what they were doing.

"I'm just really happy seeing my mates pull on the Scotland jersey, after seeing how hard Alex has worked, for example. He's the ultimate pro. He comes in every day and puts his best foot forward. So, to see him go out against Portugal - I was so happy for him. And same with Max on the summer tour. Those are two boys who have grafted really hard and they've deserved their opportunities."
